Induction heating

Induction heating is a unique method for heating objects using electricity to induce a current inside the object. The object must, of course, be ferrous in order to conduct the electricity. The heat is generated by a rapidly alternating magnetic field outside the object that penetrates the object, generating electric currents inside. It’s these eddy currents (also called Foucault currents) that cause the object to heat up. The frequency of the inductive current is an important factor: it determines the depth that the induced eddy currents penetrate into the object. With low frequencies of 5 to 30kHz, for example, the heating will occur deep in the object, well below the surface. High frequencies, on the other hand, though not generating a lot of heat deep in the object, will cause the surface to heat up thoroughly. Both high and low frequencies have their applications in induction heating: the low frequencies are perfect for remelting materials, while the high frequencies are very suitable for the purposes of the iDuctor. These days, induction heating has made its way into all sorts of industries, and now it’s time for other sectors to make the switch and discover the benefits that this simple but effective product brings.

Ultimate user friendliness

The iDuctor takes induction heating up several notches. Take its user friendliness for example: the coils are simple to remove and exchange so that you always have the exact size and shape of coil you need for your specific purpose. The coils can also be purchased separately. And there’s more convenience too: you can adjust the power output to your needs as well as the heating time.
